Joel Gould, DDS
Dentist
Ongoing advancements in science, technology, and understanding of the human body ensure that dentistry is an evolving field of medicine. In his 25 years as a practicing dentist in Canada and the United States, Dr. Joel Gould has been at the forefront of this evolution.
Dr. Gould launched a dynamic new practice concept, which he calls Modern American Dentistry. Begun at his flagship Manhattan Beach office in California, he has also expanded his practice to a 2nd location in Woodland Hills.
At Modern American Dentistry, Dr. Gould advances a straightforward and innovative approach to modern dental practices in an environment that is consistently comfortable and effective for his patients. His dental teams provide general and cosmetic dentistry and a broad range of comprehensive oral medical care.
He uses this new practice philosophy to embrace the dramatic evolution happening in dental care and treatment. “I created Modern American Dentistry to show people that the practice of dentistry in 2016 can be a common sense, organized system that ensures all patients receive appropriate and timely treatment,” he says.
An example of Dr. Gould’s innovative approach is a collaboration with Dimitriy’s Dental Studios in Glendale, Calif., to create the “Supermodel Veneer,” part of his Instant Smile Makeover and Instant Pageant Makeover processes. He has developed several other cosmetic dental products. In addition, Dr. Gould has completed training in the art, science, and application of Botox and Juvéderm facial fillers from experienced Beverly Hills plastic surgeons. Now his patients have options for a one-stop solution for dentofacial esthetic and anti-aging treatments for the ultimate Perfect Smile Makeover.
A native of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, Dr. Gould graduated from the University of Western Ontario in 1991 with a Doctorate in Dental Surgery. In Ontario, he joined forces with the government to provide on-site dental care and treatment to elementary school children in underserviced areas. He also established a dental clinic in a rural Ontario community.
Subsequently, Dr. Gould operated a practice in Vancouver, British Columbia, for 10 years before relocating to California in 2001. He has continued his work with children as a volunteer with the Children’s Dental Center in Inglewood in the Los Angeles area.
In addition to his practice, Dr. Gould writes a regular dental column, “The Smile Doctor,” for Pageantry Magazine, the leading publication in the pageant field, which is distributed in fifty-two countries. His informative and entertaining segments on modernizing dentistry have been seen on network TV, including FOX, NBC, ABC, and CBS. He also recently authored a book, The Perfect Smile, and is currently hosting his own radio podcast “Get Your Smile On” with Dr. Gould, available on iTunes and SoundCloud.
Arash Razi, DDS
Dr. Arash Razi has been practicing for 16 years, having graduated from New York University with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2006, followed by a post-graduate residency program with an emphasis in Dental implant & Restoration from Martin Luther King Hospital and UCLA Harbor Medical Center. Through his education, clinical experience, and continuing education, Dr. Razi is able to provide optimal care in General, Cosmetic, and Implant dental services.
Utilizing the most current dental technology, Dr. Razi has the ability to create and present virtual treatment plans utilizing a 3D intraoral scanner, 3D printer, and milling units that show step-by-step treatment for implants, smile makeover, and Invisalign cases. This technology provides him the ability to treat complicated dental cases such as full mouth reconstruction, implant placement, and All-on-4 (teeth in a day).
Dr. Razi’s training in administering oral conscious sedation allows him to provide a comfortable experience for patients with dental anxiety, whether for complicated or more basic dental treatment plans. He has a profound ability to connect with patients and sensitively address their dental needs, offering a range of options that may include composite fillings, crowns, bridges, Invisalign, and root canals. His compassion and enthusiasm for creating healthy and beautiful smiles has become the foundation of his esteemed reputation amongst his patients and the dental community.
Dr. Ankur Mohindra

- Columbia University in NY, earning Doctor of Dental Surgery degree with Honors (2003)
- Cosmetic Dentist: including white composite fillings, porcelain veneers, Same Day Crowns, bridges, Invisalign, Sleep Apnea and Snoring treatment, and oral conscious sedation to comfort dental phobic individuals.
- Memberships: Platinum Circle Dentist, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD), Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), American Dental Association (ADA), California Dental Association (CDA), and West Los Angeles Dental Society. He has completed over 1000 hours of Continuing Education.

Laura, a Los Angeles native obtained her dental assistant certification from Bryman College. With over 18 years of dental experience, she ensures our patients feel comfortable and receive the best possible dental care. On her free time she enjoys going to the beach, outdoor walks, trying new restaurants and spending time with family.

Jennifer, our lead treatment coordinator, is an invaluable asset to our team. Maritza's role as a treatment coordinator goes beyond the technical aspects. She is here to assist you in understanding your insurance benefits and how to maximize them for your dental care. Maritza helps patients feel informed, empowered, and confident in their treatment choices. Valuing the personal connections she established with each of her patients by building trust and rapport is genuinely one of the highlights of her day. Elaina hails from Long Beach, California, and attended UCLA School of Dentistry where she earned her education in dental assisting. She has been with the Modern American Dentistry team for over ten years and plays a crucial role in our practice.

Victoria hails from Philadelphia and attended West Coast University where she earned her Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) in Dental Hygiene. She graduated Magna Cum Laude and we welcomed her to our practice three years ago.
